Our research, analytics, and advisory (RAA) services in U.S. health focus on four key areas: health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), health services research, program evaluation, and regulatory insights.
Xion Health offers primarily two kinds of services within the HEOR space: real-world studies and economic evaluation (including health economics modelling). We work with partners to design real-world epidemiological and pharmacoepidemiologic studies. These studies focus on understanding the use of medical technologies and products among a group (or subgroup) of patients. While several of these studies assess healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) and cost using observational data, we also work with patient-reported outcomes (PROs), clinical outcomes (COs), and other measures of assessment.
Our health economic evaluation approaches are informed by tools and techniques used in economics, epidemiology, and biostatistics. Members of Xion’s core team have experience of working in the following therapeutic areas: dermatology; cardiometabolic; neuroscience; gastroenterology.
We work with partners to conduct applied research to better understand the issues around healthcare costs, access, quality, delivery, financing, organization, and outcomes. We mainly use secondary data to conduct such research and employ biostatistical and econometric tools to generate data-driven insights and provide contextual recommendations.
We work with partners to design program/policy-specific evaluation strategies. For us, ‘what’ we see at the end of program completion is as important as ‘why’ we see. We therefore focus not just on the outcomes or impacts, as defined by/in the program, but also on the processes. Our evaluation strategies ensure that the contextual factors are appropriately accounted for. We work with program stakeholders to ensure that our evaluation strategies are sufficiently grounded in the contextual nuances.
We work with partners to generate critical insights into the regulatory process and guidance surrounding a specific medicinal product or technology. We mainly focus on the processes and guidance coming from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS).
